Post 10: the challenge

I thing that the english class is a very good space for learn and improve in english. However, I believe that it isn´t very important how is should be. In this time english is very important in all the ways, and we must have a good education in that. I think that should exist more levels of english, so we will really prepared.

I like the use of blogs, I haven’t had a blog before this (the termn before I create this blog for the english class), but it’s a very good way to learn how to write in english and also share with the class mates. Sometimes you can know funny or interesting thing of the class mates reading their blogs.

  

I thing that my weakness in english are related to speak, more then write. I din’t know how I can improve this, may be practiced speaking in my house with my aunts (sometimes they speak english in my house for my little brother and my nephew don’t undestand), also I think that would hepl watch more movies in english and listen more songs.

My other idea to practice english is to tavel around the world. I been thinking atsrt this travel in England and go for all Europe. I don’t have the plan ready yet, but I thing that is very probable thing. After this my english it must be very good, so I will speak with naturalness and fluency. I can’t wait to start my trip!!

Outside the english class, I don’t use much more english. Like I said before, I use english sometimes in my house, but I don’t use english more besides this. But I wahnt to practice more for improve my english. I don’t know how yet but it’s like a proyect.

Post 9: Future job

Mu future job is something that I don´t have defined yet. There are a lot of options that I would like to do. 

I always think that I woul like to take a major. I´m thinking of taking something relative with international politic, or may be something that complement my career, but I don’t know what yet, I like history and economy also, so one of that things I would like to do. 

I really like investigation journalism, and radio, but I don’t like so much the idea of been running all day for make a couple of notes of some subject that I don’t understand completely. May be I could do radio journalist for a couple of years, and after that dedicated to articles and interviews. My ideal job is some place where I can make articles, and may be interviews, but in a long time, like 15 days, with not so much pressure. 

This is important, because when I choose my job I really like to work in something that allows me to do that, may be a magazine or something like that. I will like to have time for other things, so I would like a job with a flexible timetable and also some place where I can go into the subjects.

I belive that my weaknesses are there sometimes I write a lot much more then I suposed to, I’m not very short for say thing, also I don’t like to be in tv, so I preffer something like newspapper or radio. In other hand my strengths are I’m very organized with all the things that I have to do, I’m persistent and I love to know new things or knowing differents subjects.

Pots 7: I'm not green :/

I’m not really an ecological person. In my family doesn’t exist the idea of recycling, so everything I learned (that is not much) was in the school or university. I believe that the family is really important for been ecological. If your family has some enviromentally friendly practice is a lot easier!!

You can learn enviromentally friendly practice in a lot of ploaces. Exist some organization for help to the people, and now is a problem of all the society, so some municipalitys has programs of recycling or for teach people to do this and other enviromental friendly practice. 

Like I sayd before in my house there is non of this practice. But we are starting to recycling some of the garbage of the house. 

I live very far for the university, so I can’t use a bike for travel, but I try to walk or use more public transport (that heps to reduce the contamination). I really like (come day) live near the university and use a bike!!

I never join any ecological organization, but I’m impress for all the work that they do in a lot of places. Even sometimes they make that all the people take consciencie of the thing that affect to the world.

I would like to join in some organization like Greenpeace, once I searched for the requirement, but with the jobs, and the studies I didn’t have much time. I think now I could do it. Also I would like to reciclyng more and buy thing more eco- friendly.

I didn’t do much for reduce my carbon footprint, and I feel bad for mthat. But, I would like to start reciclyng some of the garbage of my house and make that some people has more conscience of the enviroment.

I think that Santiago (and Chile) has very little enviromental politycs. Even if now are much things, there is a long way yet.

  

Post 6: the classic!

When I was little I didn’t read much, but almost my memories are from my mother reading. She always read a lot of book, of any topic. Now I like to read, a lot. I don’t know how many book I’ve read in my life, but I think they are more of 100, if I take in consideration all the school and university books. 

I like to read differents books, but the kind I really enjoy is novel. I don’t care if it’s romantic, fantastic or a drama. I preffer it because they make me dream and know differents wordls, worlds that sometimes doesn’t exist.

The last book that I read (not for university) was “Los Miserables”, from Victor Hugo. It took me a lot of days to read it, because is a veeeery long book. The story is located in Paris and is about the life of Jean Valjean, who lives a lot of injustice, but he always is a good person. 

I totally reccomend this book, because the story is very good, the characters are impressive and it’s a classic!  

Post 5: closure of La Nación

The article is about the closure of the chilean newspapper “La Nación”. This newspapper was state-owned.

The author of the article says that the decision was suggested for the goverment of Chile and all the workers and the assosiation of juornalists were against the decision. The reason: the closure of this newspapper makes that the concentration of all the print media (wich is already a lot) still increasing.

This subject is very important in our country. The media concentration is very worryng , according to the narrator, two companys have the 95% of the newspapper of Chile: “El Mercurio” and Copesa (the owner of “La Tercera”).  The proprietor of this companys also have industrys and are landowners.

The author explains that the dissolution of “La Nación” was in the agenda of Piñera since he became president os Chile. That because in 2009 he already showed his discontent with the newspapper.

In 2010 when Piñera assumed as president, one of his first decision was change all the directors of the newspapper for people of his same politycal position. After that in november “La Nación” was turn in a digital newspapper.  

The closing of this newspapper leaves without employment to 170 people. Ans the opinion of all the people is that in this country there is non newspapper of opposition.

One of reason that the goverment give for close “La Nación” was that the newspapper made the  goverment lose money. But according to Marcelo Castillo, president of the association of journalist, this newspapper was a quite viable company.
